In Memoriam

Harold Brown 1925 - 2019

The Hamilton Company and the community lost a great leader and friend. Harold Brown founded The Hamilton Company over six decades ago creating one of the city’s and New England’s largest and most successful real estate companies. The Company now provides a full range of development, acquisition and construction services, property and asset management, and financial and investment management.

Harold was also known for his generous contributions to the community he lived in and where he did business. He founded The Hamilton Company Charitable Foundation in 2011. The Foundation has provided millions of dollars annually to city charities and neighborhood groups in the communities The Hamilton Company serves. Many of the contributions provide educational, recreational and other services to urban and suburban youth.

Harold was a U.S. Navy veteran of both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He graduated from MIT in metallurgical engineering. He was recipient of many community awards including the Franciscan Children’s Community Leadership Award and Real Estate Journal Blue Jacket Lifetime Achievement Award.
